Robert enlisted in the US Marines on July 13, 1948 where he was one of the thousands of men who bravely fought in the extreme weather conditions in the Chosin Reservoir Campaign of the Korean War Conflict. He was a Sergeant who was honorably discharged on July 12, 1952.
