Zachary Paul DeVries, 21, of Shelby, unexpectedly passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024. He was born December 18, 2002, in Ottawa County, the son of Bradley DeVries and Laura Cunningham.

Zach was a beloved son, grandson, brother, and friend. For those that loved Zach you know he had a heart of gold, and a spontaneous spirit. He loved riding dirt bikes and quads, loved “fixing up” his truck, mudding, and being with his friends.

Zach is survived by his; his father and stepmother, Bradley and Brianna DeVries; mother and stepfather, Laura and Alex Cunningham; grandparents, Bob Maus and Judy DeVries; three brothers, Jake DeVries, Gabriel Blackledge, William Lane; two stepbrothers, Brayden Cunningham and Dylan Cunningham; two sisters, Alexis Cunningham and Saphire Lane; one stepsister, Madelyn Cunningham; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Zach will forever be loved and missed by all those whose lives he has touched.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” John 14:1-3.

In accordance with Zachary’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and no services will be held at this time.
