Vicki L Tawney Obituary

Vicki L. “Cookie” Tawney 69, was called home to our Lord on Thursday April 28, 2022.
                           
She was born in Philadelphia Pennsylvania on June 2, 1952 to James R. Zitka Jr. and Ethel J. Brown.


Cookie was a dedicated mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many.  She was a nurse and loved
helping people, especially the elderly.  She loved animals and enjoyed taking long car rides down
country roads looking for baby wildlife.  She had a sewing room at home and would create a variety of 
items whenever she could.  


She is survived by her significant other and best friend David Fleming.  Her two children, Michael (Roci 
Jo) Tawney of Allendale and Joseph Tawney of Muskegon.  Her grandchildren, Michala Tawney of 
Jacksonville Florida, Kya, Kalli and Kade Tawney of Spring Lake.  Her brother Bruce (Susan) Zitka of 
Muskegon and her sister Terri Morte’ of Howell New Jersey.  Several nieces and nephews and David 
Fleming’s special family.


She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and brother-in-law Greg Morte’.


She will be laid to rest at Eagle’s Cemetery New Era, Michigan.


The Harris Funeral Home, Shelby Michigan, is in charge of arrangements.
