Sandra Kaye (Moore) West, age 77, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 26th, 2025 surrounded by the ones she loved the most. Sandra was born on November 20th, 1947 to Ralph & Kathleen Moore.
Sandra, affectionately known as Sandi, was a beacon of generosity & was a pillar of support to all who knew her. She was always ready with a joke, a supportive word, and a prayer, making every interaction with her memorable & heartwarming. Sandra graduated from Whitehall High School in 1965 & pursued various career paths, but her passion for caregiving always prevailed due to her nurturing nature & immense compassion. She spent many years providing comfort & care to those in need, embodying a spirit of selflessness that defined her life. Through her commitment to caregiving, she even met her best friend, Sylvia Ray.
A woman of strong faith, Sandra was deeply committed to her spiritual life always finding strength and solace in her worship/prayer. Her love for God was evident in her daily actions in the way she cherished & supported her family/friends. Throughout her life she had many interests including traveling, sailing and taking pictures of her adventures. She loved being on/near the lake, she loved morel hunting and always had many stories of deer hunting with her dad. In her final years, her life was filled with joy from the simple pleasures of phone calls, knitting, crossword puzzles, visiting with family & playing games on her phone.
Sandra is survived by: her siblings, Joan (David) Sanderson and Jeff (Tonya) Moore; three sons, Ralph W. Grasmeyer, Ronald L. Grasmeyer, Robert A. Grasmeyer; Grandchildren, Jacob (Kaytlyn) A. Grasmeyer, Justin A. Grasmeyer; Jacob L. Grasmeyer, Reece W. Grasmeyer, Trey D. Grasmeyer, Kylen J. Grasmeyer, Landon R. Grasmeyer; Nicholas R. Grasmeyer, Tasha G. Grasmeyer; nieces and nephews, Joshua, Tristen Moore, Brandy, Dustin and Austin, Kisha Moore, Ralph Moore, Joyce Degan, and Heidi Moore; and her beloved dog “Angel”.
Sandra was preceded in death by: her parents, Ralph B. Moore, Sr & Kathleen A. (Dake) Moore; brothers, Billy Moore, Phillip J. Moore, & Ralph B. Moore.
Sandra's life was a testament to her beautiful soul & the profound impact she had on those around her. She will be deeply missed & forever remembered as a source of joy & support in the lives of many.
In memory of Sandra and “in lieu of flowers, take someone you love to lunch. Although I love flowers very much, I won’t see them when I’m gone.”
A visitation and time of remembrance will be held from 6 pm until 8 pm, Friday, March 14, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home at 267 N. Michigan Avenue, Shelby, Michigan, 49455.
