Rose La Penna Obituary

Rose Marie (Volpp) La Penna, 88, of Fremont, formerly of Grand Haven, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on May 29, 2021. She was born January 6, 1933, in Mears, the daughter of Gottlieb and Rose (Powers) Volpp.

Rose owned and operated Giuseppe’s Pizza in Fremont and Grand Haven for 18 years.

Rose is survived by: her five children, Diana Light, David (Barb) La Penna, Denice (La Penna) DeBoef, Doreen (Dale) Hettmansperger, and Daniel (Barb) La Penna; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

In 1951, Rose married Joseph La Penna, of Grand Haven, and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by: her parents; infant grandson, Steven Phillip Light; and son-in-law, Lee Light.

The immediate family has conducted private services.

The Harris Funeral Home, in Shelby, is handling arrangements.
