Roger (Chuck) Schultz Jr., age 69, of Shelby, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022. He was born August 21,1952, in Shelby, to Roger and Joanne (Yarwood) Schultz.

Chuck graduated from Montague High School in 1970. After graduating, he worked various jobs, traveling as often as he could on his time off. His favorite place to visit was Yellowstone National Park. He eventually found his calling to help people and entered the Grand Valley State University Police Academy. Chuck spent thirty-two years serving the Shelby Police Department, making an impact in the small community he called home. He also worked for New Era and Rothbury Police Departments during his career. He married Diane Spears on June 18, 1988, in Shelby, and together they had two children. Above all else, his family was his whole world.

Chuck is survived by his wife Diane; children, Kayla and Colton; sister, Cheri (Jim) Parker; brothers, Dave Schultz and John (Cathy) Schultz; mother-in-law, Lorraine Spears; brother-in-law, Ken Spears; nieces, Becky Mattson, Stephanie (Jim) Halstead, Autumn (Scott) Johnson, and Lydia Spears; and nephews, Matt (Lynn) Parker and Nick (Jill) Spears.

Chuck was preceded in death by both of his parents.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM, Saturday, February 26, 2022, at the Harris Funeral Home, 267 North Michigan Avenue, Shelby, MI 49455. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 PM, Saturday, February 26, 2022, at the funeral home, with a light luncheon to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Crystal Valley Care Fund, P O Box 451, Hart, MI 49420.
