Richard L. Riddle

Richard L. Riddle, 84 years old, died on June 24, 2019 while surrounded by family and friends.

Richard was born October 30, 1934 in Muskegon Heights. His parents were George Kenneth Riddle (1903-1969) and Marian Isabelle (Mallory) Riddle (1909-1998).  He was preceded in death by his siblings Evelyn (1928), Kenneth (2001), and Marilyn (1960).

Richard is survived by his sister Nancy Heavey of Tacoma, Washington, several nephews and their families.

In 1956 Richard married Bobbie Cornett in Trenton, Ohio.  Richard and Bobbie celebrated 42 years of marriage before Bobbie passed away in 1998. 

From 1953 to 1955 Richard served proudly in the US Army.  He was employed by the Magnode Corporation of Trenton, Ohio from 1955 to 2000.  Richard returned to Michigan upon his retirement and was happy to be among friends and family.

In 2011 Richard became reacquainted with childhood friend Carmaleen (Bromley) Purdy.  They have been inseparable ever since.  In fulfillment of his last wish, Richard and Carmaleen were united in marriage.  Carmaleen's large extended family warmly embraced and deeply loved "Dad" and "Grandpa Rich."

At his request there will be no funeral or memorial service.  His ashes will be interred at Elbridge Township Cemetery on July 13th, with military honors.
