Rhodora Maxine Sloan, 92 of New Era, passed away Friday, November 3, 2023.  She was born October 8, 1931, in Shelby, the daughter of Dale and Eunice (Robertson) Jarvis.

Maxine is survived by: her stepchildren, Tressa (Dan) Kentner, Debbie Firedrich, Rick (Lori) Sloan; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Zella Simmons.

Maxine was preceded in death by: parents, Dale and Eunice Jarvis; husband, Warren Sloan; siblings, Betty Jarvis Rundle, Dale Jarvis Jr., Warren Jarvis and Ward Jarvis.

Visitation will be held from 10 am until 12 pm, Friday, November 10, 2023, at Harris Funeral Home, 267 N. Michigan Avenue, Shelby, Michigan 49455.  A graveside committal service will be held after visitation, at Mt. Hope Cemetery, 2990 W. Woodrow Road, Shelby, Michigan 49455, with Pastor Paulette Zoulek officiating. A luncheon will follow at The Ladder Community Center, 67 N State St, Shelby, MI 49455.
