Mrs. Maxine Meitner, 90, passed away Saturday October 1, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born May 17, 1932, in Bronson Missouri, to Jesse and Caroline (Cox) Waddle.

Maxine was a very loving Mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Goodfellows. Maxine was a USDA inspector, counting cherries on the trees. She picked asparagus for the neighbors and also on the farm. She worked at Oceana Hospital until it closed. Maxine worked packing apples for Golden Hart Farms until she retired. She enjoyed her trips with Dad to the UP to Sault St. Marie to watch the boats come in and out of the locks. Maxine enjoyed the times they went on bus trips all over the U.S., she called it "Doris's Bus trip". Maxine loved taking pictures of everything, especially the clouds. She also enjoyed her trips to the casino and collecting Petoskey stones.

Maxine is survived by her: children, Cindy Nielsen of Hart, Tim (Tonya) Meitner of Walkerville; grandchildren, Michael (Carrie) Nielsen, Nicholas (Holly) Nielsen, Trisha (Josh) McGhan, Phillip (Meghan) Meitner, Courtney Hudson, Tim Meitner Jr, Christa Meitner, and Jessica Abbatoy. Maxine has 25 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She will also be missed by her Fur grandbabies, Maggie, Roscoe, her cat Fred and her Rooster Thelma.

Maxine was preceded in death by her: husband, Frank; son Frank J; brothers, Jesse Waddle and Buck Waddle; sisters, Emmaline and Pauline.

A graveside service will be held at 11 am, Saturday, October 15, 2022, at the Hart Cemetery, 3917 W. Main Street, Hart, Michigan 49420.
