Mary Ann Tickle, 85, of Muskegon, passed away Monday, May 27, 2024.  She was born January 29, 1939, in Shelby, the daughter of James and Bessie (Johnstone) Hughes.

Mary Ann, the oldest of five children, married her blind date, Joe, in 1956.  This led to 3 children and a happy 65 year marriage!  Mary Ann was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, big sister, aunt and friend.  From Shelby to Whitehall to the north branch of the Pentwater River and finally Darley Village, Mary Ann never knew a stranger.  She loved reading, flowers, garage sales, dominoes and was an avid furniture re-arranger!

Mary Ann is survived by: her daughter, Jeannie (Mark) Osborn; granddaughters, Heather (Chris) Luttrell, Tyra (Raymond) Martinez, Katherine Vaillancourt (Derek Stefanovsky), grandson, Jacob Vaillancourt (Amber Campbell); great-granddaughters, Alexandra and Rylie Luttrell, Alana, Gabriella, Hailey, Remi and Zoey Martinez; sister, Carol Keck; brother, Michael Hughes; and many nieces and nephews. 

Mary Ann was preceded in death by: her husband, Joseph Tickle; daughter, Mary Jo; son, Joseph James; son-in-law, James Vaillancourt; brother, James Hughes; sister, Pat Todd. 

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 pm, Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Elbridge Township Cemetery, 2200 N. 136th Avenue, Hart, Michigan 49420, with Reverend Derek Stefanovsky officiating
