Marvin Minno Hekkema Obituary

Marvin Minno Hekkema, 82, of Whitehall, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born September 8, 1941, in North Muskegon, the son of William and Maxine (Wells) Hekkema.


Marvin owned and operated Hekkema and Son Celery Farm alongside his brother in law Jerald Miller from 1979 to 2000. His son Brian joined the farm very young and continued the family business. Marvin enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing but most of all he enjoyed long rides through the countryside.
 
Marvin is survived by: his son, Brian (Juana) Hekkema; granddaughters, Joanna Hekkema, Jazmin Hekkema and Miriam Reyna; sister, Linda Miller; nieces and nephews; and dear friend, Joe Danz.


Marvin was preceded in death by: his parents, William and Maxine Hekkema; sister, Sherry Dorman; brother in law Jerald Miller.


Per Marvin’s wishes, cremation has taken place, no services are scheduled at this time.


Harris Funeral Home, in Shelby, is in charge of arrangements.
