Marjorie E. Willick, age 98, of Shelby, passed away Monday, September 6, 2021. She was born February 16, 1923 in Shelby to Henry and Mabel (Walker) Ludwig.
She attended Muskegon Heights High School for two years before graduating from Shelby High School in 1941. Marjorie went to County Normal and taught in country schools for a short time. She married Lyle Willick on March 3, 1943. She lived in Shelby most of her life. Lyle and Marjorie enjoyed many winters in Florida and many decades of trips to the family cabin in Luther.
She was a dedicated homemaker and spent countless hours supporting her children in all of their activities. Marjorie was also a 4-H leader. She enjoyed canning and her flower and vegetable gardens. Marjorie was a lifetime member of the Hart VFW Auxiliary, a member of the Blooming Valley Grange and the I Can't Remember Girls of the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by her children, Art (Barbara) Willick, Joyce Mallison, Roger (Diane) Willick, Gary (Sally) Willick and Dorene (Mike) Jacobson; brothers, Richard Ludwig and Ray Ludwig; her sister, Shirley (Bob) Herin; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lyle on June 14, 1999, her son-in-law, Gary Copus, grandson, Michael Mallison, sisters, Betty Payne and Faye Darling, and brother, Victor Ludwig.
Visitation is Monday, September 13th, 1:30 to 3:00 pm with the funeral service to follow at 3 pm at Harris Funeral Home in Shelby with Pastor Sue Beckman officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shelby. Please consider Harbor Hospice, 1050 W. Western Avenue, Suite 400, Muskegon, MI 49441 as a memorial.
