Marie E. Fitzpatrick, age 82, of Hart, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at home.  She was born December 23, 1938 in Hart to Isadore and Evelyn (Kokx) Greiner.  Marie graduated from Hart High School.  She married Gary Fitzpatrick on July 21, 1962.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Weare.

She was a caring person with a big heart and she was a hard worker.  Her favorite times were spent with her grandkids and great-grandkids whom she truly loved and adored.  They will always remember her love and big hugs.  She was a friend to all and will be clearly missed by those lucky enough to have been blessed by her friendship.  Marie loved gardening and baking and was very active in the St. Joseph Parish where she volunteered her time at luncheons.

She is survived by her husband, Gary; her children, Duane Fitzpatrick and Doreen Herrygers (and Mike Foster); grandchildren,  Sam (Zac) Samuels, Nate Butcher, Josh (Megan) Herrygers and Jenny Herrygers; great-grandchildren, Colton and Stella Samuels; and her sister, Nancy Hertel.  Marie will also be sadly missed by her golden retriever, Miss Molly.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Dawn Fitzpatrick, and her brother, Larry Greiner.

Private family services are planned for a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph's Altar Society, 2380 W. Jackson Road, Hart, MI 49420.

Many years ago, Marie would call my dad every morning to wake him up to milk cows.  He did not have to use an alarm clock, he waited for the phone to ring.  She was a great neighbor.  Sorry for your loss!

I have known Marie since I was a little boy. I would come down to her house to spend time with Duane. She was such a nice hostess whenever I would visit.
Marie often worked at funeral luncheons in the St. Josephs Hall, which I was always thankful for. That’s because in later years, that is the only time I would see her. Whenever we would spot each other in the hall, there would be a reunion and big hugs. We would reminisce about the past and of course we always spoke about her favorite son - Duane.
I will miss here too.
My sincerest condolences to the family and especially Duane.

Marie was the very first babysitter I had so many, many years ago. She was a very sweet and gentle woman and I am so glad I knew her. She will be missed. God bless all of those she left behind.

So sorry to hear of Marie's passing. I got to know her from McDonalds, and at the church suppers. My prayers are with your family
