Levetta (Miller) Kooi, 75, of Montague, was called home to the Lord on Sunday, February 15th, 2026. She was born in Arkansas on April 27, 1950. In July 1971, she married the love of her life, William “Bill” Kooi, and together they raised three daughters: Peggy, Becky, and Tammy.
In 2017, Levetta suffered a massive stroke that left her paralyzed on one side. For the next eight years, she was lovingly cared for at home by her daughters. She also attended LifeCircles PACE Muskegon, where she enjoyed socializing, building friendships, and participating in activities like bingo.
Levetta had a big heart and an infectious smile. She loved shopping, watching the deer in her yard, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughters.
Levetta is survived by: her daughters, Peggy (Dan) Dove, Becky (John) McCaul, and Tammy (Scott) McGee; grandchildren, Johnathon (Keeli Sholtey) McCaul, Brittany (Isaac) Atkins, Mathew (Shelby Viars) McCaul, Makenzie McGee, and Emalee McGee; and great-granddaughters, Paisley, Hallie, Eleanor, and Maeve.
Levetta was preceded in death by: her husband, William F. Kooi; parents, Avery and Louise Miller; her in-laws, William R. and Blanche Kooi; brother-in-law, David Tallquist.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Ferry Memorial Church, 8637 Old Channel Trail, Montague, MI 49437, with a luncheon to follow.
