Lawrence "Larry" Bradley Baxter Obituary

Lawrence “Larry” Bradley Baxter, 75, of Ferry, passed away Friday, April 5, 2024. He was born June 14, 1948 in Shelby, the son of George and Ruth (Miller) Baxter.

Larry was a beloved husband, and would do anything for his family and friends. His hobbies included hunting, crafting, wood working, snowmobiling, fixing cars and fixing just about anything his hands could get on. Larry always had a mischievous twinkle in his eye and liked to make others laugh and smile with his stories and jokes. Larry had previously worked at the Basket factory (with his mother), the Culvert company that made corrugated and drain pipes (also drove semi-truck to deliver pipes and orders), also a master mechanic at Fowler's garage. All these businesses were located in Shelby MI. Larry was a lifelong member at the former Ferry United Methodist Church he lived by and always kept God first in his life.

Larry is survived by: his wife of 50 years, Lorna (Cogswell) Baxter, brother, Rick Baxter-Barnes; sisters, Cheri Oros and Kathy Spoors; many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family; a special namesake and grandson, Kayden Lawrence Bissell.

Larry was preceded in death by: his parents, George and Ruth Baxter; sisters, Michelle Kreigh, Ruth "Bing" Lewis; nephew, George Ohman; brother in-laws, Robert " Noodles" Barnes, Bud Spoors and John Kreigh.
