Kathy C. (Gilbert) Phillipo

Kathy C. Phillipo, age 62, passed away Friday, May 31, 2019 in Grand Rapids.  She was born September 7, 1956 in Hart, the daughter of Lester E. Gilbert and Lulu E. (Monroe) Gilbert.  Kathy lived in Walkerville until she moved to Muskegon.  She was employed by GTE for nineteen years.  Kathy has lived in various adult foster care homes since 1996.  She was a member of Walkerville Wesleyan Church and enjoyed bowling, camping, gospel music and concerts.  Kathy had also been a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles when she lived in Muskegon.

She is survived by her stepsons, Craig J. Phillipo, Jeffery A. Phillipo and William J. (Elizabeth) Phillipo; seven grandsons; one granddaughter; several great-grandchildren; her boyfriend, Todd A. Thompson; brothers, Ernest E. Gilbert (and Rose), James A. Gilbert (and Mackie), Robert H. Gilbert (and Mary) and Buck W. Gilbert; sisters, Marjorie G. Rudnick (and Robert), Lucille E. Howe, Alice S. Garboske (and Walter), Maxine V. Trussell-Youngs and Helen Garvey (and Jim); her dear friend, Neola Draggoo; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Lulu Gilbert and brothers, Gerald D. Gilbert and Thomas A. Gilbert.

Visitation is Monday,  June 3rd, 6-8 pm at Harris Funeral Home in Shelby.  The funeral will be held Tuesday, June 4th, 11 am at Walkerville Wesleyan Church, 144 S. Hamon Street in Walkerville.  A luncheon will follow at the church.   Interment will be in Elbridge Township Cemetery after the luncheon.
