Kathryn (Kathy) Green

Mrs. Kathryn (Kathy) Jeanne Green, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on March 23, 2022. She was born on March 19, 1947 in Shelby Michigan to William & Hazel (Field) Knoth aka: Sue Sue and PaPa.

After high school graduation, Kathy attended beauty school and became a hairdresser. She owned and operated the Hair Loft, serving the residents of the Shelby area for many years. On February 18th, 1994 she married, the love of her life, Roger Green, who survives.

Kathy's family was her number one priority, making sure they spent ample time at the beach and camping in Pentwater, going to "The Woods" in Newaygo or maybe a trip to Mackinac Island. She has always loved rocking babies from the moment she could get them into her arms. She loved growing flowers and spent many hours working in her garden. Everyone enjoyed watching the many varieties of birds attracted to her backyard paradise. She had hundreds of friends that were very close to her. Kathy is the definition of love. She had so much to give and gave the best hugs EVER. She will be deeply missed by so many.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and brother (William Knoth).

In addition to her husband Roger, she is survived by; daughters, Lori Zelinski of Traverse City and Melissa (Steve) Cole also of Traverse City. Kathy’s pride and joy were her seven grandchildren, Lorin (Craig), Zachary, Kathryn Merissa (Riley), Ashleigh, Chad, Jacob, Trey, great granddaughter Lainey and sisters Cynthia (Dennis) and Beth.

A celebration of Kathy's life will be held  at 12:00, Sunday, August 14, 2022, at Shelby Congregational United Church of Christ, 51 E. Third Street, Shelby MI  49455, with an informal luncheon.

In lieu of flowers the family asks you to consider memorial contributions to Harbor Hospice, 1050 W. Western Avenue, Suite 400, Muskegon MI  49441.
