Mr. Jose Delfino Rodriguez Sr. age 84, of Shelby, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 19, 1937, in Orange Grove, TX, the son of Delfino and Severiana (Gutierrez) Rodriguez.

Jose lived in Alice TX, from 1937 until he moved to Shelby in 1966. He enjoyed music, dancing and the occasional trip to the casino. Jose was employed as a maintenance supervisor at the local canning company until his retirement. He was a previous member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Weare, and a member of Cursillista and Juan Diego. 

Jose is survived by his children: Leticia  (Jose) Anzaldua, Joey (Katy) Rodriguez, and Randall (Haley Waddell) Rodriguez; grandchildren: Sulema (Adam) Burmeister, Elena (Ryan) Whitehill, Andrea (Carlos) Silva, Ana Rodriguez, Alex (Mike) Johnson, Brittany Tanner, Marcos (Alexis) Anzaldua, Abby Rodriguez, Hannah (Alex Katt) Rodriguez, Brenden (Mckenna Kaat) Rodriguez, and Liam Rodriguez; sisters, Yolanda Nunez, Dalia Gonzalez and Delia (Luz) Cubarrubia; 19 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Jose was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Maria Ydalia Rodriguez; grandson, Jacob Rodriguez; brothers, Samuel Rodriguez and Raul Rodriguez; sisters, Consuelo Albiar, Reyes Caddell and Lupita Rodriguez.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at the Harris Funeral Home, 267 N. Michigan Avenue, Shelby MI 49455, with Father Daniel Schumaker presiding. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Monday, April 25, 2022 at the Harris Funeral Home, Shelby, with a praying of the rosary at 7:30 PM, and one hour prior to services on Tuesday morning. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Shelby.
