Jeffrey Lynn Gleason, 75, of Richmond, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 9th, 2026 surrounded by loving family after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.
Jeff was born in Shelby, Michigan on February 15th, 1951, the son of Douglas and Elizabeth Gleason. Jeff graduated from Shelby High School in 1970, then served in the army, until he was honorably discharged in 1972. Jeff married his high school sweetheart, Jane Dillingham, on March 31st, 1973 and together they shared almost 53 beautiful years. Jeff retired from Benco Dental in 2017.
Jeff will be remembered for his warm, kind-hearted nature, his goofy sense of humor, and his eternal devotion to the love of his life, Jane, and his family. Jeff loved cooking for loved ones, telling jokes, fishing, enjoying a glass of whiskey, and watching sports, especially U of M football.
Jeff will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Jane Gleason; children, Katie Gleason of Brooklyn, New York; Melanie Gleason (Alex Carranza) of Baltimore, Maryland; Laura Gleason of Ensenada, Mexico; and Julie (Tom) Morin of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Maya Morin, Zach Morin, Neva Gleason Akinya, and Lola Gleason Akinya; and his siblings Kathy Gleason VanWyck, Marijean (David) Schwark, Janet St. Arno (Gordon Courtright), and Brian (Nancy) Gleason.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents Douglas and Elizabeth Gleason and his brother Steven Gleason.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Harris Funeral Home, 267 N Michigan Ave, Shelby, Michigan 49455. Immediately following services military honors will be presented in Hart Cemetery, 3917 W. Tyler Road, Hart, Michigan 49420, with interment following.
Jeff will be deeply missed by all who had the blessing of knowing him.
