Jeffrey Alan Baird, 44, formerly of Shelby, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, June 17, 2024.  He was born August 30, 1979, in Shelby, the son of John Nelson and Jacquelynn Baird.

To have know Jeff is to love him. Maybe you knew him as a kid riding his bike around Shelby with his beloved little brother, or maybe you enjoy his company during his rebellious stages. No matter what, you may find him on the sand dunes, two tracking back in the trees or just sitting around a bonfire. Jeff loved camping ad being outdoors. One of his greatest wishes was being able to live off the grid and being self-sufficient, he could often be found researching what needs to happen to make that a reality.

Family meant everything to Jeff. Whether he was at a football game cheering on his nephew or just sending sweet text to let you know that your cheerleader was on your side. It was the little things that many of us will miss. Jeff jumped into the fatherhood role with both feet, and quickly learned how to navigate with 5 kids. He was often seen helping with homework or asking them how their day had been. They always knew that he would be there to support whatever endeavor they had.

Jeff was a protector and provider. He would help anyone in need even if it meant that he would struggle. One of those guys you wanted in your corner. His smile and sense of humor was infectious to everyone he knew, along with his amazing big bear hugs.

Jeff is survived by: his fiancée, Jody Clark; siblings, Adam (Crystal) Baird, Stacy (Miguel Sr.) Revilla; step-father, Mario Revilla; nieces/nephews, Devin (Brad), Isaiah, Adam Jr., Alexa and Mooch (Miguel Jr.); Jody’s children, Anthony, Alex, Ellie, Paige and Nora Jo; many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jeff was preceded in death by:  his parents, John and Jacquelynn.

A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held from 6 pm until 8 pm, Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Harris Funeral Home, 267 N. Michigan Avenue, Shelby, Michigan 49455, with a time of sharing at 7:30 PM.
