Jean B. Thompson, age 89, of Muskegon and formerly of Hesperia, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2020. She was born May 4, 1931 in Muskegon, the daughter of Harry and Margueritte Huizenga.
Jean spent her early childhood years in Muskegon before the family moved to a farm north of Hesperia. She lived near Hesperia most of her life until she moved to Big Rapids when she worked for the State of Michigan as a coordinator for the W.I.C. program. She retired and moved back to Hesperia and then to Muskegon later to be near her family.
Jean is survived by her grandchildren, Danny Fox, Deyonna Simila and Dana Simila; great-grandchildren, Melody, Aria, Dakota, Destinee, Aiden, Adrian, Alijah, Annalea and Christopher; her daughter, Barb Stoevsand; and her sister, Betty Stroud. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Vicki Haynes.
Private interment will take place at West Hesperia Cemetery next to her parents.
