Janine D. (Goodrich) Helmer

Janine D. Helmer, age 72, of Walkerville, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018 in Ludington.  Janine was born April 16, 1946 in Hart to Lorin and Esther (Blades) Goodrich.  She was raised in Elbridge Township and graduated from Hart High School in 1965.

Janine lived in Elbridge Township many years and also in Muskegon for several years before living in Walkerville the past twenty years.  She attended Muskegon Business College.  Janine was employed for many years at Fletcher-Haynor Propane and stayed on as the business changed ownership several times.  She was also employed at the Andre Bosse Center for ten years.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Helmer in 2005.  Janine is survived by her son, Todd (Michelle) Nyquist; daughter, Jill (Kevin) Vanderzanden; grandchildren, Michaela Nyquist, Samantha Nyquist, Kaitlyn Vanderzanden, Tayte Vanderzanden and Kyrsten Vanderzanden; her sister, Muriel (Jerry) Zaverl; and nieces and nephews, Dan Zaverl, Jerry Zaverl, Sue Zaverl, Michael Bozeman and Michelle Garske.  Janine was also preceded in death by her niece, Debra Bozeman, sister, Margaret Ferguson and her parents.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 27th, 11 a.m. at Elbridge Community Church.  A luncheon and fellowship will follow.
