Ramthun, James Arthur

Jim, son of Arthur and Alice, passed in peace Tuesday, February 5th in Florida at the age of 88 surrounded by his family.  Preceded in death by his wife, Helen, his son Michael and his grandson Shaun.  Beloved husband of Beverly and loving father of Gary (Carol) of Port Charlotte, Florida; Arde (Lee) of Winsted, Connecticut; David of New Era, Michigan; Dennis (Barb) of Mt. Bethel, Pennsylvania; 16 loving Grandchildren and 11 loving Great-Grandchildren.  He is also survived by his sisters Jeanette Scheffler of Harbor Springs, Michigan and Marguerite Behm of Grand Haven, Michigan.  Jim will be fondly remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and a very kind and caring friend to everyone.

Jim was a graduate of Montague High School and Michigan State University, where he majored in Agriculture.  He was a respected life-time dairy farmer in Claybanks Township.  He and Helen were Charter members of Faith Lutheran Church in Whitehall, Michigan.  Jim is a past President of the Oceana Soil & Water Conservation District and a past Board Member of Farm Credit Services.  He enjoyed fishing, golfing, the outdoors and spending time with his grandkids.   He was a loyal Spartan fan!     

Visitation will be held Monday, February 11th, 9 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, Whitehall, Michigan followed by the Funeral Service at the Church at 11 a.m.  Lunch will immediately follow at Noon.  Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Montague, Michigan.
