Glenn Leroy Aebig, age 84, of Shelby, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at his home. He was born November 27, 1933, the son of George and Leda (Eely) Aebig. Glenn was a lifelong resident of Shelby. He served in the U.S. Navy. He married Clara Joann (Rought) on November 8, 1958.
Glenn retired from S.D. Warren Paper Mill in Muskegon and had also worked at Beckman Brothers, DuPont, and the Whitehall Leather Company. Besides working various jobs, Glenn was a lifelong vegetable and fruit farmer – farming was his passion in life.
Glenn is survived by his daughter, Dr Trudy Jo Aebig of Cincinnati, Ohio, and son, Tad Lee Aebig of Shelby, Michigan; grandchildren, Jenna (Kevin) Beckman, Jordan Aebig, Sarah (Taylor) Beaumont-White and Rachel Beaumont; great-grandson, Cohen Beckman; sister, Norma Halverson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; his brother, Wayne Aebig; and his sisters, Evelyn Aebig, Irene Luttman, Joyce Rabe, and Lois Davidson.
Visitation is Friday, February 16th, 5-8 pm. The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 17th, 11 am at Harris Funeral Home in Shelby. Memorials to the Crystal Valley Care Fund, P.O. Box 451, Hart, MI 49420 are appreciated. Interment will be in Mennonite Cemetery.
