Geneva Vietta Shellhouse (Turner), age 96 of Hart, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 17, 2021.
Upon retiring, she and her husband, Rev. Robert Shellhouse returned to Hart and served the Elbridge Community Church and Mears United Methodist Church. Geneva enjoyed baking, cooking, babysitting and spending time with family and friend, touching the lives of many throughout the years. She was a very loving person who always had a listening ear and was a big prayer warrior for many years.
She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Turner, mother Lula McCleese Turner Rose, her five brothers William, Everett, Floyd (Junior), Gale, and Richard (Dickie) and three sisters Hazel Wicks, Leona Chase, and Betty Shellhouse.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Shellhouse; survived by her children Shari (Earl) Wilson of Ithaca, Michigan, Debbie (Walter) Burmeister of Rothbury, and Mark (Elizabeth) Shellhouse of Jenison.; nine grandchildren Angie (Richard) Duke, Vicki (Chris) Harwood, Josh Wilson, Tiffany (Fred) West, Lynette (Brian) Bonine, Walt (Gillian) Burmeister, and Nathaniel, Andrew, and Caleb Shellhouse; thirteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 22nd, from noon until the funeral service at 1:00 pm at Mears United Methodist Church with Pastor Ken VanderLaan and Pastor Anne Riegler officiating. A luncheon will follow. Interment will be in Elbridge Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mears United Methodist Church or Banner of Christ Church.
