Fredrick C. Schultz, age 81 of Shelby, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 at home.  Fred was born August 10, 1937 in Hart, the son of Martin and Adelaide "Addie" (Fisk) Schultz.

He was raised near Stony Lake and attended grade school at Pine Grove.  He graduated from Shelby High School in 1957.  Fred started painting after high school and then worked at Ott Chemical Company.  Later on, Fred operated Schultz's Decorating for many years.  Fred had lived in Hart for a few years before living in Montague many years.  He had lived in the Shelby area since 1981.

Fred loved being with his grandkids.  He enjoyed playing Cribbage and loved his dog, Abby.  He enjoyed singing and making up his own songs.  He also loved to travel and once went to Australia where he bungee jumped off of a bridge.  He was an avid hunter of deer in Michigan and elk in Colorado.  He had also enjoyed fishing a few years back.

Fred is survived by his children, Kim (Terry) Plummer, Tracey (Jim) Anderson, Lorey (Rob) Montgomery, Mike (Julie) Jackson, Dan Jackson and Stephanie (Matt) Merrill; thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
