Esther Young Obituary

Esther Christina Young passed away in North Muskegon on July 5, 2018. She was born to Mervil J. and Carrie (Frosh) Risinger on October 29, 1926 in Cedar Springs, Michigan. She married Paul J. Young on May 28, 1949 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Together they raised four children.

She helped Paul with his Standard Oil Company business and they owned an ice cream shop in Montague. They also managed Crystal Downs Mobile Village. She served in the Lady’s Auxiliary for VFW Post 3256 and as a Eucharist Minister at St. Mary’s of the Woods Catholic Church.

Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; her parents; her brother, Mervil R. Risinger; and her son-in-law, David O’Connell. She is survived by her children, Patricia O’Connell of Glendale, Arizona, Kristine (Dennis) Anguilm of Wayland, Michigan, Joyce (Kim) Staton of North Muskegon, Michigan, and Paul (Sandy) Young, Jr. of Whitehall, Michigan; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
