Edward "Ed" G. Burdick

Edward G. "Ed" Burdick, age 92, of Montague, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, February 4, 2021.  He was born January 13, 1929 in Grand Ledge, Michigan to Murel and Marjorie (Mills) Burdick.  Ed married Peggy McLellan on August 26, 1950.  She preceded him in death on June 9, 2017.

The Burdicks purchased their cottage in Montague many years ago and made it their full-time home in the mid 1980's having moved from Redford.  He was a manager of the claims adjusters for Triple AAA Insurance for many years.  Ed took an early retirement to become a full-time Christian worker in counseling and visitation with the Dunning Park Chapel in Redford. He and Peggy founded the Friendship Bible Chapel in Montague.  He had served in the U.S. Navy Reserves from 1948 to 1953. 

He is survived by his daughters, Kim (Greg) Nicholson and Janis (Gary) Seaver; his grandchildren, Thea (Max) Johnson, Daniel Prust, Hannah (Tyler) Lautner, Kira (Austin) Thomas, Kendra (Colton) Baird, Lissa (Josh) Damsgaard, Heidi (Rob) Parker, Aimee (Doug) Schmidt, Matthew (Sara) Seaver, Molly (Jonathan) Scouten, Christian (Marissa) Seaver, Anna (Shane) Landis, and Lydia Seaver; great-grandchildren, Cayden, Hadley, Beckham, Isla, Aurora, Elena, Lilia, Jonathan, Ian, Elliot, Evan, Elise, Noah, Eli, Olivia, Luke, Hudson, Maverick, Rocky, Gibson, Addy, and Ezra. 

A graveside service will be held Friday, May 7th, 1 pm at Mouth Cemetery west of Montague.  A memorial service will be held at 3 pm the same day at the Ladder Community Center in Shelby.
