David Donald Fleming, 74, of Rothbury, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2024.  He was born August 3, 1950, in Shelby, the son of Donald and Marion (Tenbrink) Fleming.

David was a 1968 graduate of Shelby High School, where he enjoyed football and wrestling. He owned and managed several automotive businesses; and enjoyed all the conversations with his customers. In his free time, Dave loved to work on projects. Whether it was working in the yard, organizing his shed and garage, or building something for one of his kids. He would put his craftsmanship to good use. He was also an avid Detroit Lions fan and was looking forward to this upcoming season. Hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family also brought him great joy. 
 
David is survived by:  his children, Scott (Kathryn) Fleming, Greg (Amy) Fleming, Kara (Nicholas) Baker; grandchildren, Drew (Austin) Mull, Braeden, Saeben, Ali, Reagan Fleming, Kassie, Jace Baker; one great grandson and his loving friend Donna Benedict. 
 
David was preceded in death by: his parents, Donald and Marion; and his late fiancée Vicki Tawney.
 
The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 7 pm, Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Harris Funeral Home, 267 N. Michigan Avenue, Shelby, Michigan 49455.
