Dale L. Rasmussen, age 90, of Whitehall, passed away Monday, December 7, 2020 at home. He was born May 22, 1930 in Shelby the son of Roy and Henrietta (Porter) Rasmussen. He married Norma Shafer on June 12, 1952.
Dale graduated from Shelby High School in 1948 and served in the U.S. Air Force 1951–1955. He was a Staff Sergeant at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was the Shelby Village Clerk in the early 1960’s. Dale lived in both Shelby and Whitehall at different times in his life. He resided in Whitehall the last 30 years in the home he designed and built. He was employed at Howmet Corporation for 26 years before his retirement. He and Norma enjoyed their retirement years traveling and camping. He was an avid jigsaw puzzle enthusiast.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Rasmussen; children, Rebecca (John) Wahr, Joyce Cantlon, John (Lisa) Rasmussen and Jean (Brian) Carpenter; ten grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Lowell Rasmussen; and great-granddaughter, Kinsley Wahr.
