Clement O. McLouth, Jr., age 87, of Hart, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021 in Hart. Clem was born February 7, 1934 in Shelby to Muriel (Webb) and Clement O. McLouth. He attended Hart Schools, M.S.U. and West Shore Community College. He served with the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959. He married Linda K. Tompkins on February 18, 1961.
Clem was a field man for Michigan Fruit Canners working with farmers in Oceana, Mason and Newaygo Counties for many years. He was an active member of Hart United Methodist Church for over fifty years and enjoyed volunteering for Oceana Habitat For Humanity and participating in the Emmaus Walk. Clem served as the Mayor of Hart and was a member of the Hart School Board.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; his children, Lorie Jager Lawrence and her husband, Van Lawrence, and Thomas (Melanie) McLouth; grandchildren, Calvin Jager, Maxwell McLouth, Riley McLouth, and Gustav McLouth; stepgrandchildren, Hanna Lawrence and Tracy (Sarah) Lawrence; and his sister, Joanne (Rodney) Helms. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Max McLouth, sisters, Carol Ross and Imogene Robinson and his grandson, Jacob Jager.
Visitation for Clem will be held Friday, July 30th, twelve noon at Hart United Methodist Church with the memorial service to follow at 1 pm also at church. A reception will follow the memorial service and interment will then take place at Mears Cemetery. Please consider Hart United Methodist Church, 308 S. State Street, Hart, MI 49420 as a memorial.
