Charlotte Kay Hagner (Roltsch) was born in Muskegon, Michigan on July 14, 1947. She entered Heaven’s gates on August 23, 2018.
Charlotte was not only a loving wife and mother but also an avid quilter. She left an enormous amount of herself behind in the quilts she had sewn with love, one stitch at a time. She knew the joy of patiently creating a work of art that would grow even more precious over time. She told beautiful stories through patterns and colors, sharing the patchwork of her life as woven threads of laughter, tears, memories and dreams. She understood the value of preserving the past and had a heart gentle enough to stitch the gift of love for future lives.
Charlotte knew the blessing of treasuring life’s little moments, one stitch at a time.
Charlotte is survived by her loving husband Dennie Alan Hagner, her son Timothy Alan Hagner (Jessica) and daughters Tammy Louise Brandt (Mark) and Tina Marie Wasley (Noah), as well as her five grandchildren Caitlin, Tyler and Olivia Hagner, and Cameron and Cristian Brandt. Charlotte is also survived by her siblings Rose Ann Roltsch, Eugene Roltsch, Marsha Ritter (Greg), Sandra Roltsch and Barbara Roltsch (Perry) and her entire quilting family (too many to name here). Charlotte was predeceased in death by her son Tracy Scott Hagner and her father and mother Walter and Donna Mae Roltsch.
A reception including refreshments to celebrate her life, generosity and precious friendships will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018, from 3:00 – 6:00 PM at Harris Funeral Home, 267 N Michigan Ave, Shelby, MI 49455.
