Carol V . Wright, age 93, formerly of Shelby, Michigan went to her Heavenly home on July 24, 2024. Carol was born January 1, 1931 in Burnips, Michigan, one of six children to Howard and Freeda (Bachman) Loew.

Carol attended the 11th and 12th grade at Owosso Bible College where she graduated High School in 1948. She met her future husband at Shelby Wesleyan Church while living with, and caring for her sister Beulah at Stony Lake. Bob and Carol were married at the Loew family home in Burnips on May 19, 1952. During Bob‘s military service they lived in Denver, Colorado then returned to Michigan, residing in New Era for a short time. They then moved to Shelby in 1959 where they raised their three children.

Carol enjoyed many varied opportunities throughout her lifetime: She was a receptionist for Dr. Willis Hasty, organist for Shelby Wesleyan Church, judged 4H entries at the Oceana County Fair, developed Plat books for Oceana County with her dear friend, Margaret Knapp, and created seasonal evergreens at Hart Forestry. Carol had a passion for designing beautiful flower arrangements, a skill she maintained even while living her last three years at SKLD in Zeeland.  For many years following her “retirement” she was the organist part time at Harris Funeral Home. 

Carol is survived by:  her children, MarJean Farr, Rosalyn (Mike Bastian) Wright, and Brian Wright;  grandchildren, Timothy (Gabe) Farr, Elizabeth (Ronnie) Hummel and Kristyn (Philip) Zrenda; 8 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; sister, Bonieta Harmsen, brothers-in-law Eugene Friesen and Russell Hayes; 

Carol was preceded in death by: her loving and devoted husband, Robert (Bob) C. Wright.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am, Monday, July 29, 2024, at the Shelby Wesleyan Church, 54 N. State Street, Shelby, Michigan 49455, with Pastor Todd Deuling officiating.  Visitation will be held from 6 pm until 7:30 pm, Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Harris Funeral Home, 267 N. Michigan Avenue, Shelby, Michigan 49455, and from 10 am until the time of services on Monday at the Shelby Wesleyan Church.  A luncheon will follow services.  Interment will be in Salem Township Cemetery, Burnips, Michigan.
