Carl Roger Current, 90, of Muskegon, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2025, in Norton Shores.  He was born August 3, 1934, in Highland Park, Michigan, the son of John and Violet (Winters) Current.

Carl married Ruth DeMoor on May 3, 1958, in Newaygo, Michigan.  Carl worked as a machinist for Teledyne Continental Motors in Muskegon until his retirement.

Carl enjoyed riding motorcycles and flying Piper Colt and Cherokee airplanes along the lakeshore. Carl received his Private Pilot’s license in 1960. He was a devoted Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions fan, he enjoyed watching the games on Sunday afternoons. Carl loved his kids, grandkids and the other family members. He was a good provider for his mother and aunt.

Carl proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Carl is survived by: his daughter, Judy (Jerry) Fisk; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; siblings, Sharron (Dave) Tanner, Gary (Betty) Current, and Joan (the late Robert Erikson) Erikson; numerous nieces and nephews.

Carl was preceded in death by:  his wife of 63 years, Ruth; daughter, Diane (Current) Yakes; brothers, Don and Dave Current.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am, Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home, 267 N. Michigan Avenue, Shelby, Michigan 49455.  Visitation will be held from 5 pm until 7 pm, Friday, May 2, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home and again Saturday May 3, 2025 from 10 until the time of services at Harris Funeral Home. Burial will take place in the Mennonite Cemetery, 2052 S. 96th Avenue, Shelby, Michigan, 49455 with Military honors.
