Beverly Lynn Jiles, age 72, of Shelby, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 8, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan, to Joseph and Margaret (Cousineau) Burns.
Beverly was a caregiver at heart. A devoted mother not only to her own children, but she also extended her love and guidance to many others throughout her life. She helped raise her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and countless nieces, nephews, and neighborhood children who were fortunate enough to cross her path. Her home was a place of both structure and laughter; where you knew you’d be fed, looked after, and told exactly what you needed to hear, whether you were ready for it or not.
Beverly was well known for her sharp wit and unapologetic honesty. She believed in telling the truth, even when it was hard to hear. Her no-nonsense approach was always rooted in love, and those close to her came to appreciate her unique brand of tough love and fiercely loyal spirit.
A woman who appreciated life’s thrills, Beverly had a deep love for gambling. She especially enjoyed scratch-off tickets, Mega Millions, and Powerball drawings. Her favorite pastime, however, was visiting the casino; where she’d often stake out her favorite penny slot machine and, more often than not, walk away with more than she came in with. Whether it was luck or just Beverly being Beverly, she had a way of making things go her way.
With a broad sense of humor and an unforgettable laugh, Beverly brought joy and boldness to every room she entered. She loved with her whole heart, spoke her mind without hesitation, and built a legacy rooted in resilience, compassion, and truth.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Beverly is survived by her son, Joseph Pulsipher; sister, Janice (George) Vest; brother, Charles (Vicky) Burns; brother-in-law, Carl Martin; sisters-in-law, Terry Burns, Sue Franzel, and Barbara Franzel; several beloved grandchildren, including Elaina Avilla, Joseph Pulsipher, and Gabriel Pulsipher; and three cherished great-grandchildren.
Beverly was preceded in death by: her parents, Joseph and Margaret (Cousineau) Burns; daughter, Shannon Pulsipher; brothers, Eugene Franzel, Ted Franzel, Carl Burns, and Gaylord Franzel; and sister, Blanch Martin.
In accordance with Beverley’s wishes cremation has taken place and services will be held at a later date.
