Alvin "Al" Milner Obituary

Alvin (Al) Leonard Milner, age 86, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021. Al was born on August 2, 1934, in Hart Michigan to Fred and Myrtle (Craker) Milner. He was a 1953 graduate of Shelby High School. Throughout his life, Al was a hard worker who provided for his family by working at Hooker Chemical, Gerber, Michigan Freeze Pack, and running the Crystal Valley Tavern with his beloved wife Barbara for many years. After retiring, Al insisted on keeping busy by mowing lawns at different golf courses and retirement parks.

Al will be remembered for his happy, laid-back demeanor that made everyone feel welcomed. He enjoyed visiting and spending time with friends and family. Al could often be found playing cards or searching for bargains while yard saling on Saturday mornings. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed spending days on the golf course with his son, son-in-law, grandsons, and friends. Al enjoyed a good meal and always insisted that no dinner table was complete without a Vidalia onion.

Al was a cherished son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Steven Boutell, daughter-in-law Belinda Milner, and wife Barbara Milner.

Al is survived by his children Karen (Greg) Boutell, Peggy Heath, Steven Milner, Burton (Cheryl) Henry, Douglas (Deborah) Henry, Tamala Henry-Green; grandchildren Krista (Jim) Hams, April (Chris) Ross, Ralph Davis, Ashley (Matt) Stephens, Brittney (Dan) Samuels, Jeremy Milner, Victor Garcia, Amber Garcia, Alexandria (Matt) Schnabelrauch, Jordan Henry, Brant Henry, Taya Green; and many great-grandchildren.

A memorial will be held at a later date to celebrate the lives of both Alvin and Barbara Milner. Details will be shared by the family when they become available.
