Albert Gerard Meyers, 66, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021, at his home in Hart, Michigan. He was born December 18, 1954, in Oak Park, Illinois, the son of Albert J. and Dorothy (McHugh) Meyers.
His greatest joy was in creation and sharing his gifts with others. Anyone who knew him has a piece of furniture, art, or one of his inventions -- likely all three. He made wooden puzzle boxes, glass art, wood art, dabbled in farming his own crops and building a dam, light displays, and intricate wood inlays; all often made with jigs of his own design. He was a proud member of the IUOE Local 399, and for a time, a cabinet maker.
Albert is survived by: his children, Derek and Crystal; his sisters, Janet, Maureen, and Patricia Sifferman; and his brothers, John and Joseph.
Albert was preceded in death by his sister, Anne.
Al was cremated in accordance with his wishes. His sudden passing will leave as lasting a mark on the world as on all of the beautiful creations.
Church services will be hosted privately by his family, when safe to do so.
In lieu of donations, please encourage children to develop their skills in woodworking and trades.
