Alan Lynn Fekken Obituary

Alan Lynn Fekken, 71, of Muskegon, formerly of New Era, passed away Monday, January 2, 2023. He was born March 23, 1951, in Shelby, the son of Benjamin and Eunice (Lohman) Fekken.


Alan graduated from Shelby High School in 1969, and worked at Howmet Aerospace as an X-ray Tech for 42 years. He enjoyed the great outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, and racing cars. Alan’s biggest passion was collecting corvettes and car license plates. In his spare time, you could find him working on cars with his son, Michael, or spending time with family and friends.


Alan is survived by: his children, Michael (Deanowa) Fekken and Amy (James) Ottinger; grandchildren, Brian (Summer) Smith, Michael Fekken, Cody Ottinger, Taylor Ottinger, Collin Ottinger, KennaDee Hull, Gracie Hull, and Xander Perry; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Smith and Madison Smith; siblings, Brock (Beverly) Fekken and Sharon (Scott) Neinhuis; nieces, Jennifer (Andrè) Johnson, Andria (Garth) Dalson, and Nicole (Aaron) Stelly; and nephew, Brian (Sandy) Matiga.


Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Eunice.


The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Friday, January 6, 2023, at the Harris Funeral Home, 267 North Michigan Avenue, Shelby, Michigan 49420.
