Zinnia (Zuniga) Chavez, age 60, of Rothbury, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2019 in Muskegon.  She was born May 24, 1959 in Shelby, the daughter of Oscar and Santos (Perez) Zuniga.

Zinnia graduated from Montague High School in 1978.  She married Bonifacio Chavez in 1996.  She was employed as a supervisor at Medallion Instrumentation Systems.

Zinnia was a fun-loving lady who enjoyed the outdoors, camping and crafts.  She was very family oriented.

Zinnia is survived by her husband, Bonifacio; her daughters, Monica Zuniga and Vanessa Chavez; her grandchildren, Mateo, Miguel, Roman and Royce Zuniga; her father, Oscar Zuniga; siblings, Gilbert (Gayle) Zuniga, Richard Zuniga, Henry (Dawn) Zuniga, Sally (Ruben) Pineda and Danny "Dan" (Monica) Zuniga; and many nieces and nephews.  Zinnia was preceded in death by her mother, Santos Zuniga,  brothers, Robert and Ruben Zuniga, and nephew, Frankie Joe Zuniga.

Visitation is Thursday, October 3rd,  6-9 pm with reciting of the Rosary at 7:30 pm at Harris Funeral Home in Shelby.  Visitation will continue on  Friday, 11 am at St. James Catholic Church in Montague.  The Funeral Mass will follow Friday, Twelve Noon at the church with Father Peter Omogo as Celebrant.  Interment will take place in Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Rothbury.  Please consider family expenses as a memorial.
