William Melendrez, age 19, of Hart, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2019 .  Will was born December 20, 1999 in Lansing to Rudy and Laura (Rathbun) Melendrez.

He attended school in Lansing before moving to Missouri. Will moved back to Michigan to live in Hart in the eighth grade and graduated from Hart High School in 2019 where he was on the track team.  He was a crew member at McDonalds in Hart.

Will loved fishing, video games and spending time with his family and friends.  He was a jokester and enjoyed listening to music.

He is survived by his fiancee, Joy Dumont; his parents, Laura Brimmer (and Jimmy Dempsey) and his father, Rudy (and Susie) Melendrez; his sister, Veronica  Melendrez; brother, Antonio Melendrez; his grandmother, Lita Hanks;  his aunt, Nancy Lucille Hanks; and cousins, Joann (Nicholas) Hambright and Rayden and Ryan Hambright. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Felix Melendrez, Paul Hanks and Harold Lupnitz and his aunt, Teresa Sisson.

A memorial service will be held Monday, August 5th, 4 pm at Rothbury Community Church with Pastor Bryan Wolfe officiating. (Please note the change in service time and date from what was previously announced).
