William "Bill" Twining, 86, of Rothbury, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home Saturday, March 30, 2024.  He was born February 6, 1938 in Muskegon, the son of Walter and Luella (MacDonald) Twining.

Bill married the former Marie Hanson on April 16, 1996 in Muskegon. He has lived in the Rothbury area for the last 24 years.  Bill was a good carpenter, having built his own house, and was skilled in many other trades.  He liked the sport of boxing and was a successful trainer, training his boys who boxed many world champions.  Bill built a strong family from his children to his grandchildren.  He was a great story teller and quite the joker.

Bill is survived by:  his wife, Marie; sons, Bill, Ralph and Melvin (Chel) Twining; daughter, Verla Tice; step-son, Russ Hanson; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; first wife, Mary Twining.

Bill was preceded in death by:  his parents, Walter and Luella; grandchildren, Nathan Twining and Michelle Twining; daughters in-law, Cindy Twining and Pamela Hanson; and all his siblings.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11 am, Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Rothbury Community Church, 2500 W. Winston Road, Rothbury, Michigan 49452.
