Steven Jay Grinwis, 70, of Montague, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2026.  He was born September 7, 1955, in Shelby, the son of Leroy and Helen Grinwis.

Steve Grinwis will be remembered as a man who found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life — the outdoors, hard work, and family. A lifelong farmer, Steve had a deep connection to the land. He was happiest outdoors, whether hunting in the quiet early mornings or in a bass boat fishing with a patience and skill that reflected his calm and steady nature.

He will be especially missed by his loving family: wife, Nancy; son, Craig Grinwis; daughter, Katie (Shane) Patton; and grandchildren, Sydney, Clayton, Kelsey, Mason and Reece.

Steve was preceded in death by: his beloved daughter, Jennifer Grinwis; parents, Lee and Helen Grinwis

Those who knew Steve will remember his strong work ethic, his love for nature, and the many memories made in fields, woods, and on the water. His presence, wisdom, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Cremation has taken place; no services are scheduled at this time.
