Steven George Gorbics, 90, of Shelby, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2021. He was born July 27, 1931, in Elyria, Ohio, the son of George and Helen (Bathory) Gorbics.

Steven received a Master's degree from the University of Iowa.  He worked for the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory.  He was a life member of the Southern Maryland Dog Training Club of Forrestville.  He also enjoyed playing his guitar.

Steven is survived by: his son, Mark Gorbics; sister-in-law, Donna Gillian; nieces and nephews; and longtime friends.

On September 5, 1954, Steven married Nancy (Eschmeyer) Gorbics, and she preceded him in death on December 5, 2017. He was also preceded in death by: his daughter, Carol Susan Gorbics, 1958-2008; father and step-mother, George and Mary Gorbics; mother, Helen Ilona (Bathory) Gorbics; and brother, Lester Don Gorbics.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM, Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Harris Funeral Home, 267 North Michigan Avenue, Shelby, MI 49455.
