Sharon
Bowen
November 12, 1944 – March 24, 2021
Sharon Bowen, beloved wife, mother, step-mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great friend, passed peacefully March 24, 2021, surrounded by loved ones.
Besides her love for her husband and family, Sharon truly loved playing dulcimer with friends and those she met while playing who would become friends. Highly accomplished, she was a favorite at jam sessions and folk festivals.
She and Roger wintered in Quartzsite, Arizona the past several decades where they lived, loved, and made many lasting friendships. Their family there will miss her greatly.
Sharon was ready for this transition, and faced it with grace.
She was granted her wish to just fade away, but she will never disappear as long as those who knew and loved her are alive.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Roger; her children, Brian Bowen, Lisa (Bruce) Snider, Laurie (James) Newell, Nanette Bowen (and husband, Jon Snider), and Jennifer Dennert (and George Coulier); fifteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Donna Dennert and great-granddaughter, Nova.
Visitation is Sunday, March 28th, 2-4 pm at Harris Funeral Home in Shelby. The Funeral Mass will be held Monday, March 29th, 11 am at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Shelby with Father Dan Schumaker as Celebrant. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Shelby. Memorials to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116 are appreciated.
