Sandra Louise
Moore
Apr 18, 1936 — Aug 15, 2026
Sandra L. Moore, born April 18, 1936, in Muskegon, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 15, 2026, surrounded by her family and her loving husband, John A. Moore.
Sandra grew up in Muskegon and Muskegon Heights, where she spent her early years close to family and community. She was the daughter of Helen Lockage (Heaton) and Frank Lockage, and from an early age she carried forward her family’s entrepreneurial spirit. One of her first responsibilities was helping with—and eventually taking over—her father Frank’s men’s store, an experience that helped shape her strong work ethic and lifelong business sense.
Sandra was trained as a teacher and she worked for years to train the youth in her classroom. She also made sure her nieces and nephews used proper English and grammar as they grew up.
Sandra and John shared a remarkable life together, building both a marriage and a partnership that lasted 69 years. Together, they built a successful residential rental business.
As the years went on, they chose to slow down and enjoy a more peaceful lifestyle. They found a large farm complex in Elbridge Township and made it their home, while still continuing their work in real estate.
Outside of work, Sandra and John shared a deep love of travel. Over the years, they traveled around the world together, collecting paintings, antiques, and other meaningful treasures along the way. They especially enjoyed sharing those experiences with their nieces, nephews, and their families, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Frank Lockage; her sister, Judy Sampson (Lockage).
She is survived by her husband, John A. Moore; her nephews Mike (Missy), Dan (Melanie), and her niece Jenny (Jim); and their children, Max, Matt, Maggie, Nicole, Jacob, and Saskia. She is also survived by Matt’s wife, Jessica; Max’s fiancé, Katie; and Nicole’s fiancé, Ryan.
Sandra will be remembered for her strength, independence, love of travel and family, along with the extraordinary life she built with John over nearly seven decades.
Harris Funeral, in Shelby, is in charge of arrangements.
