Ruth I. Cory, age 87 of Ferry Township, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021 in Big Rapids. She was born April 24, 1934 in Howell, Michigan to Chester "Dan" and Imogene (Holcomb) Dawson.

She married Charles "Chuck" Cory on August 4, 1951. He passed way on February 1, 1987. Ruth lived in many different places in Michigan while growing up. She moved to Ferry at the age of thirteen and lived in Oceana County until residing at a nursing home in Big Rapids. She had enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Society.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Edie Cory; her son, Ruben Corey; seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; sisters, Sylvia Frederick, Lydia Bair, and Norma Demaray. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Faith Goss, Lulu Price, David Dawson, Judy Dawson, Janie Weger, and Dan Dawson.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 8th, from 1-3 pm at Harris Funeral Home in Shelby. There will be no funeral service. Interment will be in Ferry Township Cemetery.
