Ronald D. Wedeven, age 79, of Hesperia and formerly of Holland, passed away Friday, February 14, 2020 at home.  He was born January 1, 1941 in Olive Township, Ottawa County, to John and Martha (DeZwaan) Wedeven.

Ronald was raised on a farm in Olive Township.  He married Millie (Hulst) on September 8, 1961.  They lived in Zeeland many years.  Ron was employed at Mechanical Transplanters, Inc for fifty-five years before his retirement.  He was a member of Community Reformed Church in Zeeland.   He was a firefighter with Holland Township for twenty-two years.

The Wedevens moved to rural Oceana County  seventeen years ago where they attend Rothbury Community Church.  He retired in 2004.

He is survived by his wife, Millie; his sons, Rich Wedeven and Michael (Kelle) Wedeven; and nieces and nephews.  Ron was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Virginia Padding, Gil Wedeven and Alma VanNuil.

Visitation is scheduled for Monday, February 17th, 4-6 pm at Harris Funeral Home in Shelby and Tuesday, February 18th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James Street in Holland.  There will be no funeral service.
