Robert R. Simmons, age 79, of New Era, passed away Monday, July 1, 2019 at home.  He was born June 23, 1940 in Muskegon, the son of Robert R. Simmons and Tressa Jane (McCoy) Simmons.

Robert  married Ruth Ann Krause on August 16, 1963.  He was a United States Army veteran.  He served in the early 1960's.  Robert was a service man for Consolidated Vending Corporation for thirty years before his retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; his daughters, Thressa Miles, Veronica (Joseph)  Larrabee, Patricia  (Kenneth) Valentine, Rebeccia Simmons and Christinia (Paul) Prock; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and his brother, Wilbur (Hermina) Simmons.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and eight brothers and sisters.

Military graveside honors will be conducted on Saturday, July 20th, 11 am at Hart Cemetery.  A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, July 21st, 1 pm at Claybanks Township Park.
