Ralph Allen Briese, 80, of Hesperia, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, July 11, 2023. He was born January 28, 1943, in Michigan City, Indiana, the son of Walter and Carol (Scott) Briese.

Ralph was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army, 1966-1969, serving in the Military Police and was part of the 82nd Airborne. After his discharge, he became a police officer and served for 47 years, working for the Shelby, Pentwater, and Oceana County Sheriff Departments. Ralph also worked as a paramedic and a volunteer firefighter. He was well known in the community.

Following retirement Ralph enjoyed hunting, fishing, and many other outdoor activities. He loved spending time with his family.

Ralph is survived by: his wife of 43 years, Cindy; children, Tammy, Lee, Jamie (Chris), Camie (John), and Robyn; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Vern, Jeanene, Doreen; many nieces and nephews.

Ralph was preceded in death by: his parents, Walter and Carol; and his brother, Bruce.

Cremation has taken place, a graveside service with military honors will be held at 1 pm, Friday, July 28, 2023, at Mears Cemetery, 6188 W. Fox Road, Mears, Michigan 49436.
