Peter H.  Brown, age 72, of Shelby, passed away Friday, December 11, 2020 in Muskegon of COVID-19.  He was born August 20, 1948 in Muskegon to Frank and Antonia (Herremans) Brown.  He married Patricia Hiddema on November 18, 1972.

Pete was raised in Shelby, attended Carpenter School, graduated from Shelby High School and then graduated from Western University with a Bachelor's degree in math and science.  He was a teacher at Muskegon Public Schools and retired at age 50.  He loved to travel, hunt and fish.  He loved cars and car shows and he enjoyed spending time in Florida.  Pete and Pat have operated The Pizza Factory and Pete's Pub in Shelby for the last 35 years.

Pete is survived by his wife, Pat; children, Dan (Stacey) Brown and Melissa (Scott) Stovall; grandchildren, Katelyn, Courtney, Hannah, Carson and Laney; brothers, John Brown and Michael (Kathy) Brown; sisters, Julie (Rick) Lothschutz and Janice (Dan) Terryn; brother and sister-in-laws and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 16th, 5-7 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home in Shelby.  A graveside service will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shelby on Saturday, April 24th at 2 p.m.
